I found Gerrit through a web search while planning an itinerary for travel in Belgium and The Netherlands. I had been looking for advice on how to best get to the Kroller Muller Museum (which I highly recommend) from Amsterdam. His article was informative, comprehensive and very well written. As a result, I scoured his website (HiddenHolland.com) and learned that not only did Gerrit offer planning assistance for The Netherlands but he also offered a number of private tours.

I emailed Gerrit and received a prompt reply answering all of my questions and decided to engage with him on travel planning. He proved to be an invaluable resource in this respect, with clear communications through emails and Zoom calls. He was easy to work with and happy to tailor his recommendations based on discussions with myself and my wife. At that point we also scheduled 3 full day guided excursions with Gerrit.

This engagement occurred over a year out from our trip. By the time of our actual travel, another couple had decided to join us. We all agreed during and after the trip, that the days we enjoyed with Gerrit were the clear highlights of the trip. We wished we had scheduled him for even more of our time on this trip. I had two days with Gerrit: to the idyllic Giethoorn with canal boat ride seeing the beautiful thatched roofed houses; and to the wonderful Kröller Müller Museum & National Park de Hoge Veluwe and then on to lovely Amersfoort. For art lovers, the museum including its sculpture garden is a must. I had a great time with Gerrit, who is knowledgeable, interesting, friendly, kind and generous with his time. And importantly a very safe driver. I highly recommend both Gerrit/Hidden Holland and these tours.
