Absolutely incredible experience. Rounded Cape Horn with them. The ship is incredible, excellently maintained reflecting there missions to sail hard to hard places. Captain, officers and crew excellent. We sailed a challenging bit of water and there were no dramas. That’s not an accident, that’s skill.

A sail on a ship like this is demanding compared to non sailing ships, and that’s what makes this so incredibly special. If you want to sail as both as hard and as comfortably as you could on a tall ship, this is that combination.

This is not a gin cruise. It's a lifetime experience. You are there as a willing crew not as a passenger. You can steer the ship, climb the rig, and contribute to sailing this beautiful ship and do as much as you are able. You will be trained by professional and extremely friendly and fun-loving crew. If you are a sailor, you'll learn about sailing a tall ship the old-fashioned way. If you have never sailed, they will introduce you to sailing and teach you as much as you can absorb. You will find some very interesting people with adventurous spirits and diverse backgrounds. You will be guided by some knowledgeable and energetic crew and be educated on wildlife, the environment, and our impact on all of it. You will see and experience something new every day. You will be tired for all the right reasons, and you will look forward to doing it again the next day. You need to come prepared mentally, physically, and with proper clothing and gear. You do not need a lot, you just need the right gear. They will help you with that before you embark.

I sailed on the 22 day Antarctic voyage in Feb 2024 and loved loved loved it. As others have said, you get fully involved in all aspects of the sailing - helming, sail training, line-pulling, lookout duties, climbing aloft. The crew were professional, competent, relaxed, friendly, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable … everything you could ask for. The rooms were surprisingly comfortable and the food was diverse and tasty and nourishing (esp for vegetarians). The weather wasn’t always smooth sailing (in fact, very bumpy sailing) but the crew kept everything in order! Memories for a lifetime!!! I had sailed on Bark Europa before in the tall ships races and knew about this trip already, but seems like lots of people don’t … I can only highly recommend it!! Get the word out there and get more people into this epic places with character-building and empowering activities

I find it difficult to express in words how much this trip effected my life. It is certainly not a cruise, but instead a very hands-on experience, simultaneously developing life long friendships and memories I will always cherish.

I learned a lot about myself and brought home not only memories and technical skills but also life skills I didn't expect to take away from the voyage.

If you are looking for adventure, to see beautiful unforgettable sights and are willing to go out of your comfort zone to do it I would highly recommend going on an expedition on Europa.

I was on the ship for 50 days. Several people were joining for their second or even third trip on the ship. I will absolutely plan to go on another in the future.

I cried when we all had to say good-bye. I will always consider my fellow crew from Europa family.

Don't hesitate - if you like sailing you will love your trip on Europa - I've done 2 trips to the Antarctic and can't recommend them enough - the ship's crew are all so user friendly and help you through every step of your experience - my only warning is that will gain weight!
